We had an interesting morning today.
Yesterday I was digging around the fence for flower beds and I unearthed a metal object.
The dog grabbed it and tried to play with it, so I put it up on the fence.
Today we were out digging the vegetable garden and I remembered the object, and showed it to my husband.
Well, after shaking and banging it to see what it was, he decides to call the police.
They come over and decide it was something dangerous and being a beautiful sunday, no one was available.
( I would hate to think what would happen, if it was something really dangerous;)
So, we had to wait half the day and not go in the back yard, till someone came and took it away in a bomb box, lol.
I still have no idea what it is, so hopefully they will let us know and I will be more careful when digging the rest of the yard;)
We finally got out for a bit and took a walk at Ninigret park. I always love it there, nice paths and cool ocean breezes. The park in inside of the salt water pond, but past the dunes, is the ocean.
This is Bill enjoying the views.
This is me, wishing I had bought the boats for a nice paddle in the coves.

Let us know what it turns out to be... You live near the ocean like I do. We have marshes and areas before the dunes that are teaming with wildlife. I'm going to approach the park about putting up at least one webcam so that there can be more access by all to Cumberland. At all the various tide levels, there's all sorts of activity. Alligators, dolphins, manatee, river otters, birds, you just never know. Glad you are safe.
I hope they figure out what the dang thing is... and I hope it wasn't "live". LOVE the pics of the cove! Beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors!
A BOMB! My goodness I can't wait to hear the end to that story.

I'm glad no one was hurt with your mystery metal object. It does look like you had a beautiful day & was perfect for your walk. :)
Keep us posted.....you are so lucky to have such a beautiful area to view when walking!

I hope that you find out what it is and let us know. I think it's rather scary to find something like that not knowing what it is!
