I thought I needed to get out and have a fun shopping day, so I hit the local stores and consignments.
You just never know what you will find in a home store and sometimes I get lucky. I got my first wire basket at a primitive store in Mystic, and was so happy to find this one at our local store. It is large and has two compartments, perfect for small pieces of wool. I hung it next to my cutting table, so I can snag a piece whenever I need a small piece of wool in a project.
Then I hit the TJ's in the same plaza and found this rustic wooden box. Not sure what I will use it for yet, but I will think of something, any ideas? Hey, it was in the sale aisle, can't pass up a good bargain;)
Today I had to hit the library, so thought, since I was out, why not hit the consignment nearby. I actually found a cast iron cat doorstop. They are hard to find, especially good fake ones;) It may not be a Hubley, but good enough for me. Both consignments had loads of new antiques in, but most were musty, I do not do musty or moldy.
Now, the Surprise? Well it is a secret, at least until Sunday night. So if you come back Sunday night, you will see a new blog featuring a free punch needle pattern that I made from a certain quilt designer's patterns. I will be working with her in the coming months, working on samples for a new line of punched patterns, so don't forget to come back on Sunday.

oh, Debbie...how exciting for you! You absolutely ROCK!!!!
By the way...love all your 'finds'...cutest kitty!
I see herb starter plants in the square wooden box! Maybe a bunch of something drying on the ends....
I love the wool display! It's raining here, and now I feel antsy to go antique shopping!
Wow, what finds!! Love the piece for your wool scraps. I see flowers in the wooden box. Very sweet! Wish I lived near you for all these goodies. Just great!
Great new finds! It sounds like you had a wonderful day out. How exciting to be working with a quilter on the designs too! :)
I was thinking of herbs in the box. I have food allergies so I cannot use dried herbs and it is impossible to find fresh ones around here. I need to restart my herb garden.
Debbie
Oh I love that wooden box! Not sure what you can use it for but I can see why it was a must to get! And what a find with the cat door stop. I have a friend who has been looking for one for a long time. We look for them at antique shops when we go. Your right, they are rare!
Hi Debbie,
What great finds!! I love the wire basket holding your wool. I agree with the others that the wood box would look great with flowers in it or herbs.
How exciting to be working with a quilter on designs.
Cindy
Great finds! Your wool is so organized, I am jealous. I can see a pillar candle in each of the holes in that basket, filled with rosehips all around....just a thought.

I can't wait to hear more about your news later today. How exciting! And you have such a knack for finding the neatest items! I love the wire basket and kitty doorstop, but think the wood box is a treasure. I can picture a pottery jar full of hooks, perhaps a wool tomato with needles, wool worms...anything goes! But you are best with herbs, and after all...it is Spring and we need plants around us!

I use a wide wire basket to hold my rotary cutting rulers and mat's - hangs over my cutting table. Love yours too!
WOW, have you got some finds there!! I'd love to find a cast iron cat like that one, and that wooden caddy is great too. Now I've got to start scouring the antique shops around here!
HOW CUTE! I'LL GUESS THE KITTEN WITH THE YARN ON TOP IS NEWEST!
THANK YOU! msstitcher1214@gmail.com
