I am still working on secret projects, so I cannot show you, what I have been working on;)
I did make a couple of new hearts. One I made by using a muslim heart for the back and placed pieces of scraps on top and then used my sewing machine to do the stitching, over the raw edges. The second one, I sewed scraps together, then cut out the heart and did the stitches on the seams with floss. I think the machine one came out nice, on the right/front. The second one, has less pieces, so I don't like it as much, but easier and faster to do it that way. I think they look good in my new candle holder. That was a find at an antique booth.
And for something old. This is a rug I made, in my first year of hooking. We had a contest, to make a game rug and this is what I came up with. It has been hanging on the wall and starting to warp, so time to take it down and give it a good steam press, then find a better way to hang it. I would like to make a wood, box frame to put it in. I think it would look nice and lend to the gaming look.

I love the rug! So nautical.
That first picture is a feast for the eyes. Everything is wonderful.. the candle, the holder, and the cute, pieced hearts. You didn't mention the penny rug underneath it all but it's the perfect finishing touch.
That gameboard rug was hooked your first year? That's amazing!

Love that candle holder with all those crazy quilt hearts!!! The crow runner underneath it looks fab too! Can't wait for everyone to receive their secret gifts, so we can see what else you've been creating! ;-)
Your hearts are great! See you do not stop! Yep can't wait to see your projects when they aren't so secret anymore!
Even if you don't build a frame to hold the rug, you can use a thicker dowel rod. You could whip stitch a fabric pocket on the back, and slide the dowel rug in. It would hold it evenly to avoid the stretching.

That was your first attempt at a rug? OMG, that is amazingly beautiful!
Your hearts turned out fantastic too!
Have a great weekend!
I love the hearts and the candle holder! Your rug is wonderful - love the boats - reminds me of the Puff the Magic Dragon song!
Love the hearts~ And the rug sure was a challenge. Lots of work in that one. Can't wait to see what else you'v been doing.
The candleholder and hearts...LOVE the look! I remember that rug...that was the first I kinda knew you, I think. It is still spectacular!

I remember this rug.I did the contest too,but I never got my done.I love yours.
That is a really awesome rug!
Great find on the Upholstery fabric, it's gorgeous. Also a good find on the wool. I see it at one of the local quilt stores dyed for about $14. - $15. for barely a fat qtr. It would be fun to dye a group of fabrics with friends. Your rug is going to be really great. I love your hook rug. Have a great week.
