This and That Monday!

This weekend was cold, way too cold for long walks. It was good weather to get out for some fresh air and play with Bean. I never have to ask twice, if he wants to go out, that is a given, lol. Our young trees finally turned and the winds blew a lot of the leaves on the ground, and Bean loves playing in the leaves.

He seems to lose weight, right before a growth spurt and today he seems a bit taller and  huskier. I use my waterproof camera for photos since it is easier to carry while we play, so not the best quality photos.

It could be all the exercise he gets, he really gets into play and has strong muscles for a pup. I have to be careful that he doesn't hurt himself, since he loves to do high jumps.

I was also able to get some sewing done. I started this quilt, last year and finally put the pieces together. I still need to do some stitchery and add another border so it is lap size. I used a free design and precut blocks that a friend sent me. Now it is a quilt for another friend of ours.

I sewed my punch needle pieces with backings and got them all stuffed. Now I am doing the finishing work with borders and staining on some. The chicken was a bit bright, so I added a touch of stain to tone it down. Unfortunately the flash lightened them back up. I just may finish in time, after all;)

Friday Finish with Bean!

Another week and I haven't gotten as much as I planned, done. Bean does take up a lot of my time, lots of walks and keeping an eye on him so he doesn't eat everything he can find. He has lots of toys but always seems to want something he can't have.

My sister was up for a visit, so I got her things finished and forgot to take a photo of the snowman mat. It is a design I have made before but with hers, I used buttons on his front for a fun piece. I couldn't find a basket for the snow angel, so I had my husband cut out a hornbook for it. The design is by Brenda Gervais and she gives the template for the hornbook with the pattern. I did not stain this piece since my sister isn't into prim.

Bean loves to chase and carry things. I got him a stuffed sheep, it is now a sheep, minus the stuffing. The head was made of a loose linen, not a good material for a dog toy. He can now walk up stairs, but still afraid to go down. He can get off the couch, by taking a flying leap and today he was using his tongue to try and open his cage, the boy is getting too smart for his own good.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. We have nice weather coming back, so it looks like the perfect time to go for some walks with Bean.

Friday Finish: Snow Angel

I got my first Christmas piece down, a million more to go, lol. This piece is called Snow Angel by All Through the Night. I love her designs and this one was no exception, it was fun to do and pick out wools to use in it. One thing I got when I hit the wool store this year, was a few yards or white shades, love the textured whites and they are fun to use in winter projects.

The wools are are a mix of new and thrift wools. I think this will be a happy piece to hang for the holidays. I decided to use snowflake buttons on mine, I think they are fun on this piece.
