Doll Makers Wanted!

I was visiting Edyth O'neill's blog and found a truly touching request and wanted to pass it along to my readers.
I know a lot of you make dolls and this is such a sweet cause and would truly make a wonderful woman happy.
Edyth has known this woman for years and she has helped Edyth when her house burnt down and now she is at a point in her life, where a sharing of our gifts, would truly bring happiness to her life.

So, if you like to make dolls or would love to do something special for the holiday season, please visit Edyth's site and you can get details there.

If you do not have black doll patterns, you can easily modify any pattern by using dark fabrics.
Here are a few sites for free patterns, to make dolls, if you would like to join in. Many of these dolls would be wonderful gifts for little girls too, maybe for a local shelter.

Free Cloth Doll Patterns

For epatterns, there are some wonderful ladies who make patterns for dolls and often have specials on their patterns.

Threadbare Primitives has some wonderful doll patterns, and some are on special. I love the Tabitha doll, that is one I would love to make and it is only 4.99 for an epattern.

Another wonderful designer is Jackie Schmidt. She has some wonderful primitive black angel dolls that would be fun to make.

Kim Koehler has some wonderful black doll patterns, that are primitive and simple to make.

Winners, Freebie and Specials!

This was a long night, my computer decided it didn't want to run my photoshop today and kept crashing, so it took me forever to get the new pattern done for a pdf. I hope I didn't make any mistakes, since I had to rush a bit, to get it done in time.

First, I hate when people don't win contests, it makes me sad. So, for everyone who likes to cross stitch as well, I made the Holly Bird into a cross stitch. It can be done in colors or in a single prim color. I am still trying to get the hang of how to make my patterns look and print better, but getting there. So for everyone who visits, here is a freebie.

And as an added bonus, for those of you who wanted the rooster pattern....
If you buy the rooster pattern, you can pick any other pattern, no matter the cost, for free!
So, when you pay for the pattern, just add what you would like for your freebie in the comment section.
There is a link to my ecrater site in the left hand column.

Now onto the winners. I couldn't just pick one, so there are two winners of the contest.
I actually tried the random number generator, it was a lot easier than typing and cutting out paper pieces;)

Winner number one is..... Deb

Winner number two is..... Sheila

I really enjoyed the contest and meeting new friends. Thank you all for visiting and becoming a follower, that alone is the best prize I could win. Deb and Sheila, please email me and I will send your free pattern, to you.

Contest winners!

Today it was sunny, then it was cloudy, then chance of severe storms, so we decided to not go paddling.
I have had one harrowing experience on a lake, in a storm. Once was enough;)
So, we went prim shopping and I got a basket and a repro jar, but too lazy to take pictures and put them in.

I guess you want to know who won? I guess I should tell you.

First, the winner of the guessing game. No one got it right, lol. But, you all got it half right, so I entered all of your names.
The correct answers were, barnacles and periwinkle. The are very small and in the snail family.
The winner of the guessing game is.........Arlyce!

The winner of the weekly drawing is........Lauren from RugsandPugs.

Check out my patterns on ecrater and pick the one you would like and then send me an email with your request.
It as fun sharing my week with you and it is not over. Tomorrow, if nothing goes wrong, we will be going to the Quiet Corner Rug Show in Connecticut and I will take lots of pictures to share with you all.

And here is another picture of periwinkles and barnacles on the rocks. The whole area is covered with them and they are edible.

The real me!

So, you want to see what I look like now? Well, that depends on what kind of day I am having, lol.
I always have the camera, so it is rare to get a picture of me, never mind one I would show to the public;)

Last year we went to NH for our anniversary. So, this is the most recent picture I have of myself.
Don't be jealous of my skinny legs, especially with those big feet.

That was my little buddy, he was following me around the beach. Here is Bill, in his all sun proof clothing.
He does have some hair left, under that hat;) I have a hard time getting shots in the boat, between my shake and the water motion, not an easy thing to do.

Now, I guess you want to see the real me, well this is it, haha. This is the real me, I could live in my boat, I love to paddle and be on the water and right now I am so so sick of the rain. Hopefully it will clear in a few days and we can get out this week. Then if Bill can get a picture that doesn't make me look like a real chicken legged dork, I might just show it;)

Don't forget, comments today will count as an extra chance to win this weeks prize.

New Booklet is ready!

I finally got the new horse booklet done. There are some with a lot of detail, so more time redoing them and cleaning them up when I scan them in. It has 4 of my original patterns that have been done with punch, hooking and painting. Then I added the two new ones with different versions, as well as, the colors I used in those pieces.

It is a great book for punching or hooking, the designs work well, with both. I have raised the cost of this one to 14.00.
I decided to make these patterns into a booklet, which saves from buying one pattern at a time, so I thought it fair. What do you think? I have also been asked to do print patterns and I am thinking about it. But, I do enjoy doing the epatterns, they are cost effective, so I can charge less than I would if I sold them as separate patterns and you can get them and start working on them, the same day you pay. Which way do you prefer? Epatterns or Print?

I also had a request for the sewing kitty and made her up today. She is such a fun pattern and makes a great gift for your sewing friends. I may make another one as a gift and use a lighter background, this time. She is sold as a single. You can find my patterns on my ecrater site, link to the left. I really do enjoy seeing the pieces others make from my designs, so please share them with us.

New Epatterns Available

I finally got a chance to do up the patters for my latest creations.
I have two sets, one with the newest angel designs and the other has the bird dog with sticks and the pull toy kitty.
I also did up a single pattern of the rooster house design, that I made for my kitchen.

Epatterns are great because you can get them soon after you make payment, so no waiting for the mail and no shipping costs. I know when I am in the mood to make something new, I want to make it now;) You can enlarge them for rug hooking or reduce for punch needle. They are true pdf files, so they will work on all systems and allow you to reduce them before you print them out if you are doing punch needle.

The designs can easily be adapted for stitcheries and applique, as well. You can find them at my ecrater site along with the other patterns that I am offering. Hopefully in the next week, I will have new pattern booklets for you to enjoy.

Contest Winners!

So, what was Izzy doing in the window?
Dora was in the window, checking out the birds and hogging the window sill. So, Izzy hopped to the side and went under the window and just as I grabbed the camera, Dora left. So, Izzy is looking at Dora, saying hey, there is room for both of us, haha.

I got the names on folded paper, a box and some catnip and it was already for the picks, lol.
Dora of course jumped in, she is a catnip addict. She looked through the entries while Izzy urged her on.

Then Dora made her decision and marked it with her paw. The winner is JoJo. Congratulations JoJo.

She was having so much fun, that I had to let her play again. After rooting around, she lay down and put the second name in front of her. Oh, the things we do to amuse ourselves;) The second winner is Christine, from Sticks, Stitches N Boards. Congratulations Christine.

You can view the booklet choices at my ecrater site, link at the upper left of page. Please send me your email address and your choice of booklet. I almost forgot, for all of you who left a message, if you would like to try my patterns, if you buy one pattern booklet, you will get a free one of your choice.

Wonderful Prize and bad dye day

This week, Brenda of Pumpkin Patch Primitives held a contest for those of us in her yahoo group. We had to name the pattern she was working on and the winner got a copy of the pattern. Well, I went through every page on her shop and found it, lol. I couldn't believe I was the first to answer, considering my server was being slow that night.

Today I got my package and I can't believe how quick it came. I was expecting a pattern, but Brenda sent along a package of goodies and all items I love and needed. I have bowl fillers and with the new items, not enough filler, so now I have more pumpkins to add to my mix. I also need prim candles and cannot find good ones around here and she sent me three. Plus, a beautiful bundle of hand dyed wools. All that along with the pattern. I love the pattern and it will be so fun to make. I feel like I won the lottery;) Be sure to check out Brenda's shop. She has great prim patterns from all the best designers, wonderful fabrics and great deals.

Now for those who may have misunderstood my title and thought I had a prize, keep your eyes out on my blog. I am nearing the 100th post and will be doing a contest soon.

I thought I would accomplish something today and pulled out a bunch of wools to over dye. I need lots of black for my big runner and grabbed all different types of thrift wools. Well, so much for my big plans. I only got a small batch that turned black enough to use and the rest would not dye right and was too thin. This is wool, I always check my tags and do the burn test, but for some reason, some wools will not dye right. So, those will go in the craft pile. They are great for backings, penny rugs and I may even use some in a scrap rug. I have another pile in the dryer, and some darkened, but not the right shades of black. I really wanted my runner to be consistent, but being so large, I cannot afford that much new wool. I will use what I have and see what happens;)

Birthday Special

I thought I would do a special as a present instead of getting them;)
For today through sunday night, I will offer 2 (Two) of my ebooklets for the price of one.
Just go to my ecrater (Woolensails) store and decide on which two booklets you would like and then email me with your request.
You can either email me with a paypal payment and put down which two booklets you would like or you can email with the booklet requests and I can send you a paypal receipt.

I will be doing new patterns for next year, but for now I am busy working on presents and things for my house. I may try and get some single patterns up in the next few weeks. I will announce it here when I do.

Thanks to all who have bought booklets from me and I hope you will all share pictures of your finished pieces with me.
