This is what I have finished so far. Today I was not up to par, so I got more work done on it. It is a horrid picture and it does show were I make mistakes;) I am using two strands to give it an antique look. I am also changing a few things to suit my likes and changing some colors. The letters on the original are mixed colors, but I was going with one color. But, I picked up a strand without thinking and by the time I was on the third letter, I realized it, lol. So, I went with it and added two more in that color. Next time I need to take a photo, outside, without flash. It also called for 14 count and I am using 18 count, since i want smaller pieces on the walls.

This is what it is supposed to look like;) I like prim colors, and the house looked more like a cottage, so I changed the roof.

I found this old piece, that I was working on in the 80's and never finished. It has an alphabet going around it. I have no idea where the book is and if I still have it. Time to clean out the basement. I love comments and if you have questions, I always leave an answer in the comment section.
As you can see, my eyes were better, 30 years ago;)

Debbie - your piece looks great - i don't see any mistakes - again you are too hard on yourself. Lucky you that you can stitch so fast....ah the days...I used to be able to do that - LOL! Amazing how much you get accomplished
I know how much work that is...and I love them especially the house one! Great work! I haven't stitched in awhile and I do miss it!
Have a great rest of the week!

Hey Debbie, your Grateful Heart looks great! It's a wonderful design and I think it's a Little House Needleworks design, isn't it?
The three kitties are cute. I think I remember that as an old Cricket Collection design.
You're doing great with your stitching!
I LOVE how you changed the house roof on Grateful Heart; I like the design as a whole a lot better with your change. Not crazy about the cottagey looking houses myself.
Hope you don't get too much snow. I've had enough.
I too have ventured back into the world of cross stitch. I used to do it like a maniac! I am stitching on linen and I don't understand...the holes are smaller than they used to be. I NEED TO USE MY LIGHTED MAGNIFYING GLASS.

Great piece Debbie! I can't believe what a different changing the angle of the roof made too! Kepp on stitchin'! :-)
Very sweet and Americana-looking with the architectural changes to the house! Also, love your 80's cats!.
I think your changing of the roof is very suitable; gives a better look. :D
Your plan for the entryway will look very nice, I think.
Your cross stitch is looking great and I certainly didn't see any mistakes! You so talented in everything you do! :)
Debbie, your cross stitch is wonderful.. I love the way you changed the roof on the house. Great Job!! I made a Christmas cross stitch years ago and pulled it out this Christmas to frame it. Unfortunately it has a stain on it and I'm not sure how to get it out. I tried a few stain removers but they didn't work. I wonder now if maybe Peroxide might take it out. Do you have any ideas. Thanks.. :) It's a cream background with a couple of yellow stains, not sure what they are.
Love how you made the house the way you wanted it to be. Great idea! Kitties are too cute.
I always like the older one's Debbie.
There is something about them that is age and timeless x x x
Keep going, I can't wait to see more
Debbie~
I like your sampler and the changes you made. There sure are lots of wonderful people out there to meet and call friend. Enjoy stitching up your gifted patterns.
