Thrifty Monday and a surprise

Today was dollar day, so I hit our area Savers. I only found two items, but it is good wool and at a dollar a piece, you can't beat that. I really don't like the cutting and washing and dying, but it is one way I can save money and keep enjoying wool crafts.

I also lucked out and found some old quilting magazines. Love it when I find those and there are some great patterns in them, that I will definitely be making. The mens jacket will be over dyed with an antique black, I need more for my big rug. The other is a black jacket and skirt, so lots of wool for a dollar. It is great for outlines and penny rugs.

I also got a package from my dear friend Cyndi. She sent me one of her beautiful rugs, a gravestone angel. It is perfect over my key box, needed something for that space.

Probably 99% of my wool collection has come from Saver's 99 cent Mondays! Good thing I bought it when I did, because someone ELSE has been snatching it all up lately! LOL

when you wash your finds do you first take them apart? or just felt then like thay are, then take them apart?

When I buy thrift wool, I throw it right in the wash, never know where it has been or if it already has moth eggs hidden in it. I do a warm/warm wash and then dry. Then I take them apart for dying. They do not full much in one piece, so it does not over full them, by doing that.
