I have been working on a new project this week and finished it today.
I made the school house wall hanging for a friend and wanted to do something like that in a punched piece.
I decided I wanted to put it on a chalkboard and with the extra space, I thought a mini stitchery would go perfect with it.
Both pieces I made up as I went. The stitchery is was designed as I went, adding one thing and another. I was thinking I was a 7 year old school girl without the experience of the older girls and just went with it and as you can see, this is the result. I put the name Edith, my grandmother's name. She is the one who rug hooked, sewed, and had a ceramic studio, so you can see who I got my creative genes from.
I painted and antiqued the chalkboard. The entire set has that old yellowed look to it. I love how this piece came out and this will be hard to part with. But, it is going up on ebay later tonight if anyone is interested in this piece.

OOOOHHHH i love it and i sssooo want it...i'm going yo check it out on ebay right now!!!!!
That is way too cute! Hope I win! Hee-hee!
That looks so primitive & wonderful. I wonder if you could not do the same with old window frames??? Good job.
I guess I have to think about making another, but it will be different. I never make the same thing twice.
I am always thinking of things I can put pn pieces on and have seen windows with quilting. I think I window with a scene behind it would be fun to do. I might be more tempted to paint something that size.

How very cute and I love your penny rug checkerboard also. What a great idea!
Cathy
The penny rug was a prize from a drawing. I just love it and so nice to have gifts from other quilters.

Its just gorgeous. I cant work out how to bid for it, ebay confuses me!
Lynette,
I have it set for US only, that could be why. I have sold some pieces to Australia in the past though. I also noticed ebay does not allow anything but paypal now, so I will try and sell some pieces on my ecrater site at buy now prices, for those who prefer to use money orders.

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and entering my birthday giveaway.
You asked what kind of embroidery machine did I have...it's a Brother Pro 620II. I got it last September, but I have been doing embroidery for 16 years. I've had 2different Husqvarna Viking machines before I got my Brother.
I have so enjoyed reading your blog. I love all the creations that you have made. I'm adding you to my favorites list and will be back often to see what you are working on.
Have a great week, Cindy
What a great piece you created. Love how it all turned out.
