Punching and Putty Tat!

As most of you know, we got robbed when we were out paddling this summer. One of the things in my purse, was my punch needle sunglass case. So, I made another. This one is a little different with colors and I tried two ways of punching. I usually punch forward or a bit to the side, as you can see on most of the piece. On the sails, I punched sideways all the way around, which is the way you are supposed to punch. I do like the way it looks, the loops are more pronounced and aren't as smooshed looking. The light blob on the boat is my attempt at making mini initials, a failed attempt, lol.

Today we had a visitor, or I could say, I still have a visitor. This little guy came to visit and has decided to stay. My neighbor said it was one of her kittens and she gave it to the guy across the road. I guess he doesn't keep it in the house and he was attracted to my kitties in the window. He is quite the character and full of energy, so he doesn't sit still.

He sure looks like someone else we know;)

And he is still on my back porch, he is scared of what is out there and I feel so bad for him. I got a box and put an old towel in it and hopefully when it gets light, he will go home. Izzy is having a fit, growling and trying to attack him through the window. Moki wants to play with him.

More Wool Quilt Blocks

Today I was resting, seem to have got a bug or something.
Sewing is something I can do in my lap and easy on the brain;)

Yesterday I laid out the blocks I had done and figured out a basic layout and then drew up a diagram of what I had and what I needed to fill in space. Today I used a darker brown and a really plush dark red brown for backgrounds. They seem to be a good mix with the black and tans. I have three more blocks to go, two are small, so I will work on those this week to get them done.

I made the cats and the stars early this week. I needed something that was longer and had a patek book with the big kitty and matching smaller ones. So, I made this block, which I call, Midnight stroll. The stars are a good way to fill in smaller areas.

Today I made the heart and the bird on flower. These are from a Whimsicals book. I love the fun and whimsical look of her designs. The flower was a smaller, so I blew it up to make a good perch for my bird. I still need to add details to the pieces, but for now I am just sewing.

Dora the Explorer Strikes Again

It amazes me that Dora stayed alive long enough to make it to a shelter. She is into everything and I mean everything. The minute I open the refrigerator door, she zips by me and jumps in. Here she is with that stubborn look, and she is stubborn.

I convinced her that she would freeze to death or suffocate if she didn't get out, so I guess that convinced her and she left finally. Now I watch as I open the door, but she still sneaks up on me and gets in. After that she followed me to the laundry room and kept jumping in the washing machine and I had to keep taking her out. I am very very careful about opening and closing things with her around and always double check.
