Paddling in the hot sun

Today we went to Burlingame pond, which is really more like a lake. I decided to look it up and basically, a lake is made by nature, a pond is made by man. I have no information on the pond being made, but I cannot imagine anyone digging over 500 acres to make it;)

Today was definitely hot and we paddled and we stopped a lot to jump in the water. We stopped and swam at one place and played with two dogs whose owner was enjoying an unused camp that is in the area. We made our mid stop at the old campground. It has been closed for years since the state does not want to pay people to watch it. The last time it was open, someone started a bad fire, so now it is a place to stop and enjoy a nice swim and picnic.

We paddled the entire lake today, from one side to the other, going into every cove. I think we spent more time in the water than on it, though. Now it is time to get back to work and finish up my projects this week.

Beautiful, Debbie. It sounds like a perfect day. I've never kayaked before but I'd sure love to jump in the water and take a swim.

Oh Debbie - your area looks lovely - I would so love to live so near all that water! What a great weekend you had!

You're fortunate to live near water to kayak. I've never been in a kayak, but my boys have (Boys Scout camp).

I admit, we live in a beautiful state and everything is close enough to drive to. We have had the kayaks for years, so it is so nice to be able to do something so enjoyable, that does not cost any extra money.

Such neat pictures. Sounds like you had nice time...even if it was hot.

Beautiful pictures, Debbie.

I could not imagine digging out over 500 acres either.

Have a great weekend.
