New Braided Rug

Since I went the easy way and bought braided runners, I decided to take the wool I put together and make a rug for my living room. It is nothing fancy, just scrap wools that I wanted to use up and it will cover the floor until I make a better one. As you can see, Izzy had to test it, the minute I laid it down. I will keep going around until it covers the middle area of the room.

Since It was so beautiful out today, I enjoyed some cooler air on the porch. Of course I start to see things as the dusk settles in.
Do you see what I saw in the trees? Every time I go to Maine, I say I will see a moose and never do, so now I have one in my backyard;)

I love your braided rug! Are you using the silver (at least that's what color mine are) bias strip makers? (again - that's what I think they are - a handmedown from my Grandmother) Can you give us a closer view of the rug? Thanks. ~Ann

Ann,
I took it at night with flash, so the photos are not that great. Next time I will take a photo outside so I can get a better close up of the braids.

LOL! That Izzy is too dang cute! The rug looks great! And, despite only having 1 cup of coffee yet this morning, I really do see the moose in the trees! ;-)

I made a braided rug for my living room about 10-12 years ago - long before I started rug hooking. Believe it or not, I used polyester double knit fabric for it - can you believe that? It actually looks okay, and I doubt it will EVER wear out! LOL Yours is wonderful!

Great rug; I've been crocheting fabric end rolls for round rag rugs. Don't you just love being thrifty?!
