My wall art

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to paint my wall with a scene and this is the result. I used acrylic paints and some templates and a lot of freehand. It took me weeks to paint and I soon got tired of doing it and never did do the shadowing and finishing touches. So, it still sits on the wall and some day I will have to wash it off, but for now it will stay.

I would love to do more realistic pictures on some of my walls, but I do not have the time, energy or patience to do a nice job, so I will decorate my walls with my art pieces.

Dora the Explorer

Dora loves to explore her new home and anything she can crawl into is open game.
She seems to be one of those kitties who likes to be where I am and if I am walking around she is either under my feet or flying through the air at me. Today the dog was outside the door waiting to come in. Dora sat at the door meowing to let me know he wanted in. When he came in, Dora jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck for a few secs, then let go. The times you wished you had a camera, it was just too cute. She is trying to cuddle up with him, but after being harassed for years by the other cats, Casey is a bit leery of her intentions. I have to admit, he is good with her and lets her get away with more than the other kitties did.

The second picture is another of her favorite spots and as you can see, she has her favorite toys close by.

Lady on Horse punchneedle

I have been having fun making punch needles and fabric boxes. This latest piece is based on a design from an antique redware plate. I love making frakturs, but it is fun to do them in other mediums such as punch needle and rug hooking.

Dog days of summer?

It is hot in Rhode Island and what better way to spend the day then to lounge around on mom's chaise lounge. I need to save up my energy so I can find ways to harass mom and my brother Casey. 

Well, being silly is what we do when it is hot and our brains are mush. I decided to start a blog on google, so this is my first post to test it out.
