Kitty Quilting

Since Dora is an attention grabber, I though it only fair that Izzy gets her turn at what she does best, harass me when I am sewing. I finally got the backing on and started putting the tacks in my scrap quilt. I was going to pin it, but when I realized how long it took me to do a few, I thought, why not just start tacking and roll as I go. I am using prequilted fabric and doing it on the floor, so it lays flat, no batting to shift around on me.

Of course, the minute I put it on the floor, Izzy has to get in on the action. First she took the the far corner, she does that at night too, sleeps at the far end of the bed. As you can see, I stock floss for my punching. I have the big plastic container with dividers for my floss and the top tier is for the nest of scrap floss. When I need a little bit of a color, I just pull up a strand and cut it off.

After that, she noticed the floss I was using and I began to get attacked when I least expected it. Izzy's favorite game is sneak attack.

I don't know about your animals, but I have really dumb ones, or maybe smart ones, lol. When my dog is out of water, he lays at his bowl until I notice him and the empty bowl. He will sit there for hours if I don't see him. Now that Izzy has figure out how to drink from the tap, she does the same thing. I find her sitting in the sink, waiting for me to turn it on.

  1. Izzy is adorable!! Don't you just love our furry little helpers when we are working on a project!! My little Yorkie decided to make a bed in one of my fabric crates the other day...I posted a pic of it on my blog.

  6. I actually believe that our cats are so smart, they must look at us and are confused because we can't 'read' their signals. Three of our former cats used to curl up together in the bathroom sink and even now, we have 4 out of the 5 who want to drink from the bathroom faucet. I guess since it's fresh and colder, they prefer that to their dish.

But oh, I wish they'd leave my wool strips alone. I have to put everything up and out of reach. Joey, especially, will grab and strip, run with it and try to eat it. And since I don't want to run her to the vet for emergency surgery for a blockage, it all has to be closed away. I love them so much but sometimes, they drive me crazy!!!

  9. oh your kittys are so pretty..our kittys love to drink from the bathroom faucet..and they each have their way of doing it..one lets it run down her forehead and then shakes it all over the mirror..the other drinks from it sideways..so she has a wet cheek..and the 3rd puts her paw in it and drinks from her paw...:)oh and 2 loved drinking from the tub..:)

  10. My cats also love to drink running water and will sit in the tub waiting for me to come into the bathroom and turn the water on. One of the cats will actually meow from inside the tub, as if she is calling me into the bathroom. Funny--until she does it at 3:00 AM!

  11. Dora likes her water running very slow and drinks from the side. Izzy likes the drip and licks each one as it falls. My last kitty was a paw drinker, funny how they have their ways of drinking.

  13. I'm just loving all your kitty photos! I don't know that I would accomplish very much if they were mine...I'd prefer playing with them over quilting I'm afraid.
