Friday Finish and Fun!

This week I finally got time to finish my stitchery that I had been working on. It is one of the designs offered for Free from the Facebook group, Australian Stitch Along. I love the saying on this one, and more fun colors for my art space in the guest room.

I also made some more masks. My sister is going to her granddaughter's wedding, and she doesn't have a decent mask, so I made her two to match her Navy blue dress and some Native American prints. I had one piece of ribbon left, so I put that in one mask, to fancy it up.

And the boys got their first ride in the trailer, they loved it. We sat them at the table, but tomorrow I will put down the table and put in some pillows and a blanket so they can stretch out and be more comfy for longer rides.

And we ended up back at our house but that was fine with them. It was hot and a few squirt guns and they were happy. I am not sure who had more fun, them or Bean, he loves playing with the boys.

Their birthday was this week so we are planning on a day out. Nick said he wanted to have a picnic at the waterfall with hiking trails. I am assuming he means the one in Connecticut, which is good since they have large parking areas and picnic areas along the river. We got them cameras, so they can use them to take their own photos.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are in phase 2, but I plan on avoiding the beaches and areas that just opened, I know they will be mobbed.

  1. There is so much info on the internet regarding the home-made masks .... they do not work to prevent a virus from getting thru, either direction ... that is a false sense of security. Only the N95 masks have any effect on prevention. Thought you should know this, as I know people mean well, but it does no good whatsoever. In fact, it does more harm by forcing you to breathe in your own expelled CO2, and thus reduces the oxygen intake that your body requires. I hope this does not offend, I only wish to get the word out there because our main stream media does not report this info.

  2. OH I love your BEE quilt! I will look for that group. I too am making masks. So...the masks we make do help. They stop a sneeze droplets, they HELP!!! I have given them to lots of neighbors and friends, and am making more. Not N95 masks, but they do help some, according to our PHD infectious disease specialist at work.

  4. I like how you color your stitched blocks. They always look good. I noticed the way you stitched around the edge of your little quilt. Very prim in style. I have never done that.

  5. Another fun finish Debbie! How you find time to do all you do is beyond me. Those boys must just be giddy....I am sure they didn't care where they ended up LOL...and silly Bean...what a treasure he is. Squirt guns make me shiver at this point...we are expecting freezing/frost tonight. Enjoy what's left of your weekend! ~Robin~

  6. Your masks are collecting sneeze droplets? And other moisture that you are breathing out? ... yuk ... then your masks are harboring bacteria. Common sense, please reconsider and stop using home-made masks.

  7. A darling design, thanks for the link. I'm not on FB, but I have an embroidery friend who would be interested, I think. It looks like the boys had a ball at your place.

  8. Several sellers on Etsy are advertising 1/4 inch elastic for sale. I ordered some for mask making but it hasn't arrived yet. But I just ordered it a few days ago.
