This week has been busy with getting the last of the cards and packages done, last minute shopping for the kids and lots of cleaning. Even though we are eating at the kids this year, I always clean the house before A holiday, no spring cleaning for me. I find it is best to clean when I am redoing the decorations for the season since I have to take things done anyways;)
I got a surprise package from my friend Karen. She made me a little angel quilt, love minis and fun to hang around the house.
And she sent me a few patterns and some material. One is the exact weight I need to make pillows for the beach room, so another project I can start after the holidays. For now I am still in the Christmas mood and I just love the snowman door stop by Bird Brain Designs, so I am working on it now. No rush but bad weather this weekend, so maybe I can get him done.
The original is done in blue thread, but I thought I would go with colors.
I hope you all have finished your shopping and have time to relax and enjoy the holidays. You are welcome to use the card saying, I found them online and put them together, I think it is a nice way to present a gift too.
I also found a fun project to make for Christmas or any time of the year. A sock owl and they show a no sew method, so fun project for the kids too. I might just try some myself. You can find the pattern at Crafts n' Coffee.
Hi Deb!! I do the same thing with my cleaning....I clean when I rearrange the furniture, or change up decorations, etc. I've never been a true spring leaner either. Love your little pillows and the gift from your friend is very sweet! Hope the weather is cooperating in your neck of the woods..I think our wonderful, mild weather is gone for quite a while! Have a nice weekend, Deb!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Snowman stitchery, hope you can finish it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a spring cleaning gal either. When the mood strikes I do it. Often with the seasons, sometimes not, but I need to do a big purge and get back on track again.
Those owls are cute!
I like the idea that you are doing the snowman in colors. A different look.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely gesture to give out those bags. it is always so fun to get a gift in the mail. we are in the deep freeze and now it is snowing so I plan on wrapping.

That's a lovely gift from your friend, Debbie. I shall enjoy visiting her blog this weekend. Knowing you you'll have your snowman doorstop ready by Christmas and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet gift from your friend and those tiny pillows with the card are a wonderful way to let people know you care. Your stitching projects are always a pleasure to see!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely keeping yourself busy til the last minute. Sounds like you are enjoying it and getting more into the Christmas spirit.
ReplyDeleteLove the saying on the card. You sure are getting a lot done. I had a crazy busy weekend so hopefully tomorrow I can get some last minute things done.
ReplyDeleteMerry, merry :)
