A few years ago, Jan Patek had a free pillow as part of the Christmas blog hop. Of course I had to mess with it and make it into a quilt. I finally finished it, though I am beginning to wonder if I should redo her hair and I am not pleased with the layout and how the letters sit above her. Usually I would antique something like this, but I might change some things, so I will leave it for now.
I went back to the page for the pattern, but it is no longer available. A good thing to remember when you see something for free, get it while you can.
I wanted to add the word peace and keep it simple. Then I decided to add hair, she does not look too peaceful now, lol. I think she needs a new hairdo;) I did a black outline stitch on the borders, then I decided to use my wool aurifil to do a stitch around the angel and then rays going out from that.
She looks like I feel some days! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe stars are giving her a bit of static electricity! Tee Hee! She's pretty cute anyway!
ReplyDeleteI like the prim look. I don't think I saved the pattern as it is so much like the angel in a couple of her patterns. I like the way you did her hair and would not change it. But then, it isn't for me.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to do an angel tree skirt that is in one of Jan's books for over a year now and still haven't done it. I did get out the book a few days ago to look at the pattern again. I am out of time to make it.
VEry sweet!! I like your version better!

Debbie, it is her hair, she's creeping me out, lol. n
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see anything I would change until you mentioned Peace and her hair. Sorry I was LOL too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe just a thicker stitch.
Hey that looks like John Travolta in the Angel movie he played in Michael

Honestly...
I love her x
ReplyDeleteSo prim and cute! I do agree about remembering to grab and save patterns when you see them.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she is wishing for some peace. Just draw a thought cloud around the word. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think she is wonderful!! That's what a lot of us look like when we are moving from craziness to peace!! Don't change a thing!!
ReplyDeleteI think maybe it's because her hair is black and that is why is stands out so much?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE her!!!!! I think we go to the same hairdresser! lol I love how you add your own touch.
ReplyDeleteOh I love her and especially her hair - she's my kind of angel LOL Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteI think she looks perfect. I made that pattern when it was free and made it into a pillow for a friend.
ReplyDeleteGroovy!
