Christmas Kitties!

I haven't been able to put much up for christmas, but I wanted to put a few things up and I had found three alpine trees that I could decorate and put on my chest. Doesn't Dora look so sweet.

I don't even want to think what is going in her mind, right now. Actually Dora helped me decorate, try putting on homespun garland with a cat;)

It didn't take long for Moki to notice the trees and he saw just what he wanted.

Yup, he is a candy cane thief. For the last few days, I find them all down the hallway.

And it didn't take long to come crashing down. I decided I needed a new place for the trees, now they are in a corner, on the floor.

And I decided a new, simpler Christmas display would be better, but they found a way to entertain themselves with that.

Nothing is sacred from kitties, it is all fun and games;)

  4. Ahhh....the joys of Christmas and cats!! Wouldn't have it any other way though! My parents have 8 cats and 2 of them are kittens. So far all they have is the tree up, which they actually haven't touched. The kittens whispered to me though that they heard shiny, dangling things were soon to come so they are behaving and just "waiting"! Uh oh!! :)

  5. Aren't cats just crazy? My Mr. Kitty was drinking out of the treestand today and obviously, eating pine needles as evidenced by a little gift left on the hallway floor ~ apparently they upset his little tummy!!! It's gonna be a long two weeks!!!

  6. Were they reading my blog to see what mischief Frito and Shadow have been up to? The real tree went up yesterday and so far is still standing! Whew! ~Ann

  8. That is so fun. We have been blessed with a "mama" moving in with us last spring just in time to deliver four kittens. This year our tree sits on our kitchen queen, in a bucket weighted with bricks. I made new soft ornaments and added rusty jingles bells. So far so good but....it's early in the season.

  9. My cat, Chum loves pipe cleaners,
so I gave him 5 or 6 of them.
I make a spiral out of them and
he has a blast with them! Every
once in awhile, I pick one up and
reshape it and he starts playing
    with it, again.

  10. Oh Debbie - I am giggling at theser pics - That Dora is an angel (when she's sleeping!) and that Moki - oh what can I say - isn't it fun to have active kitties! My boys "helped" me today too - I don't know how I could have done it without them (cough cough!)

  12. We have 4 new Christmas kitties since last year - someone left them at the bottom of the drive last spring. One named Dueces looks just like your Candy Cane thief. So far, we just have lights on the tree. We'll have to see about the rest of the ornaments. And the tree is tied to the ceiling due to past experience with kitties. :)

  20. What lovely kitties. My two kitties are fairly well behaved around the Christmas tree. It could be because one is over 16 years old and doesn't do much jumping anymore and the other one weights over 20 pounds and is to fat to jump onto the table holding the tree. They do like to sit and look at the lights though. I love the picture of your candy cane thief. I didn't know that cats liked peppermint, but maybe it's like catnip.
