I just love thrift stores, you never know what you will find.
I am always on the lookout for shelves and items to store things and found this great wall shelf with drawer.
I am not sure what is was actually for, but it looked like a great spool holder to me, so it will be going in my sewing room.
Then while I was looking at items, my husband comes up with a picture he found. It seems a lady was also looking at it and my husband grabbed it, because he knew I would want it, lol. Yes, I am making my poor husband into a thrift store junkie. It is a picture by Donna Perkins. I love the frame it came in too.
I also found something neat for a friend, but I can't say what that is;) And the find of the day was a yard of wool for only two dollars. I love plaids and it will be great to over dye. Something I don't have to cut up, before I use, love that.
Great finds! Love the spool holder. I have to accept the fact that I won't find things like that in my thrift stores. Wool is very scarce here. And when I do find it, they want $5.00 or more for a mini skirt, and most likely it's navy blue lol. Don't need any more navy! I'm sure you friend will love her surprise! Too funny how you converted your husband!!
ReplyDeleteNow these are great Thrift finds! How do you 'over dye' your wool?
ReplyDeleteGREAT new goodies! We have a new thrift store in town that I just saw yesterday... I'm gonna have to make my way over there real soon!

My problem is we have too many thrifts and consignments around here, so I have to limit my shopping trips or I will have my own store;)
ReplyDeleteI use wool dyes and throw it in a pot. It depends on the color of the wool and what my needs are. I am making a large rug for the living room and it will have a lot of motifs on it, so I need lots of different colors that will work together.
