Since I will hooking in sections and using multiple wools in background, I will do it last, so i can use each in an all over pattern to blend in. Sometimes I work in blobs of color, but I don't want to compete with the motifs and I may add some little designs, later on.

DebbieWoolenSailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08621977477193550261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2935207946660056757.post-69500942876028475932009-01-01T00:43:00.000-05:002009-01-01T00:43:00.000-05:00Debbie, I LOVE that bird. This is something I'm still learning....that the pattern of a wool totally changes the look once it's hooked up.

Wishing you a wonderful, happy and healthy New Year,JoJohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12488275878253530422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2935207946660056757.post-12363179628741302862008-12-31T17:14:00.000-05:002008-12-31T17:14:00.000-05:00You have made a lot of progress already! Do you usually hook the motif's and then decide on the background? I like how it's coming along and your color choices.
Happy New Year!
LauriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2935207946660056757.post-42699562866637533742008-12-31T12:53:00.000-05:002008-12-31T12:53:00.000-05:00Gosh, that's looking really good, Debbie! I love doing both and using my designs for those two mediums and punch needle.

Colors look so different when hooked then in the wool. The background color will make a difference too. The outer wools can make the hues in the motifs look different, depending on what colors you use. I always try a few rows of the colors I want to use and see how they look from a distance, before I decide.

DebbieWoolenSailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08621977477193550261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2935207946660056757.post-20415392045962644432008-12-31T04:54:00.000-05:002008-12-31T04:54:00.000-05:00Looks great, once we retire this is what I want to...Looks great, once we retire this is what I want to learn how to do.
I also either applique , sew on the machine or even a little knitting when the mood hits!
thanks for sharing your wip, loved seeing the wool you used
interesting it changes to that blue when in the wool you can see black!
Kathieantique quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15379983489980682690noreply@blogger.com
