First a reminder, the giveaway for a Shabby Apple dress is still going on until friday, so if you have not commented, visit the blog post and leave a comment there. If the dress is not for you, maybe something you could give to your daughter or a friend?
I started a new piece, a wool mat for my table, or maybe a gift, haven't decided yet. It was raining all afternoon so I had to take a flash photo, bad idea with wool pieces, but you can see my progress so far. I am not following the pattern, I could not figure it out and i know my pieces are off, but it is a nice project to work on while I watch tv and relax. I do the basic stitching first, then I will add the stems and details later.
We had a lot of rain and then a lot of humidity, perfect for my flowers outside. I grew Cosmos to attract butterflies. This is the first time I have grown flowers from seeds and they have grown so tall and beautifully.
It was so hot this weekend, that I got sick from paddling, too much hot sun. We paddled to the beach and I jumped in the water. Most of the time I sat in the water or under the umbrella and waited for a breeze to kick in so I could paddle back without killing myself. This weekend will be nice and cooler, so hopefully I can get some good paddling in.

Your wool flowers are bringing the crazy patchwork to life. Looks good.
I too am making the same wool mat and would love to know if you followed the directions for putting the pieces together using fusible. I too am having a bit of difficulty with the directions. I have all the pieces cut for the mat but am hesitant to actually try to fuse them all together until I am sure it will work. Would love to hear from you! I think your progress on the mat is looking great!
Gorgeous new start!
Be careful in the hot weather :)
Great progress on the wool mat! I think I have that kits somewhere around here... might look for it and start it soon. The cosmos look beautiful! Do the rabbit and deer stay away from them?
Your wool appliqué is very beautiful !

The mat is going to be pretty. Love cosmos, I used to have some growing but I don't know what happened to them. I will have to plant some more!
The wool piece looks fine to me. Who needs a pattern, anyway? These days I have seen some new varieties of cosmos that bloom earlier in the season and are shorter than those old waist-high ones.
The mat looks really cute. The cosmos' colour is gorgeous and vibrant.
One day I'd like to learn to kayak though my DH just rolls his eyes as I'm usually such a klutz when it comes to any sporty thing! I hope you get some cooler weather soon. Take care in the heat!
Yeah for seed growing! My little hometown was once the flower capital for growing flowers for seed. The title has gone offshore in no smal part because folks don't want to grow from seed any more. Easier to get plant starts at Home Depot.
Those flowers are beauties!!
Love the mat, the flowers really 'pop' on the dark ground. That cosmos color is a stunner. Our recent hail took our many of my flowers. Take it easy paddling and have a great weekend!
