Winter Penny Rug!

Today I finished a new piece for next year. I will be working on Christmas all year long, so I can make all the pieces that I never got to, this year. I will also be finishing some projects and quilting some tops, so hopefully I can get it all done. I also want to make a quilt for a new Grandson who will be arriving in May.

This piece was made with a design by Buttermilk Basin. The original design has tongues on the sides, but I decided to leave mine out and blanket stitch, in cream floss, around the edge. I will be using it as a wall hanging instead of a table mat.

One thing I love about winter is the snow, especially when we get just enough and it stays on the ground. Bill was taking photos of me while I was out getting some exercise. I dress for warmth, definitely not fashion, lol.

Love your little winter penny rug! And looks like you are having fun! I went cross country skiing once in Chicago, high on a bluff along the lake. It was beautiful, but very cold. I was so exhausted after the long excursion...LOL! Have a wonderful week!

I'm also working on left over Christmas projects! Guess we'll be ready for Christmas in July. We don't have as much snow here in IL, but the cold finally arrived.

Love your penny rug. We are roasting here in Australia so your snow looks very inviting.

Love your Winter penny mat and especially your changes. I've been looking at that pattern for a week now and thinking it was a little too busy for me - I think taking the tongues off was perfect! I might just do the same...

Zoom! Look at you on skis!!! It almost makes snow look like fun? lol! Love the Winter mat you stitched. I think it looks better without the tongues.

I could "do" Christmas all year long...and I do !! LOL
I'm always ready to sew as soon as the Christmas Tree is down - which is the night of Dec. 25th, or the morning of Dec. 26th. LOL

Happy Stitching.

Cute wool applique!!
After snowshoeing before Christmas I am hoping we get more snow so I can do it again. It was so much fun. When it's cold, who cares about fashion?!! LOL You're looking great!!
