Wacky Angel Quilt!

A few years ago, Jan Patek had a free pillow as part of the Christmas blog hop. Of course I had to mess with it and make it into a quilt. I finally finished it, though I am beginning to wonder if I should redo her hair and I am not pleased with the layout and how the letters sit above her. Usually I would antique something like this, but I might change some things, so I will leave it for now.

I went back to the page for the pattern, but it is no longer available. A good thing to remember when you see something for free, get it while you can.

I wanted to add the word peace and keep it simple. Then I decided to add hair, she does not look too peaceful now, lol. I think she needs a new hairdo;)  I did a black outline stitch on the borders, then I decided to use my wool aurifil to do a stitch around the angel and then rays going out from that.

The stars are giving her a bit of static electricity! Tee Hee! She's pretty cute anyway!

I like the prim look. I don't think I saved the pattern as it is so much like the angel in a couple of her patterns. I like the way you did her hair and would not change it. But then, it isn't for me.

I wanted to do an angel tree skirt that is in one of Jan's books for over a year now and still haven't done it. I did get out the book a few days ago to look at the pattern again. I am out of time to make it.

So prim and cute! I do agree about remembering to grab and save patterns when you see them.

Maybe she is wishing for some peace. Just draw a thought cloud around the word. :-)

I think she is wonderful!! That's what a lot of us look like when we are moving from craziness to peace!! Don't change a thing!!

I think maybe it's because her hair is black and that is why is stands out so much?

I think she looks perfect. I made that pattern when it was free and made it into a pillow for a friend.
