I win, you win giveaway!

I have been lucky this month and have won some wonderful prizes, so I thought I would have a contest and you can help me out.
I won two charm packs and would like to use them for charity quilts. The top fabric is Peacock Lane by Violet Craft and the second charm pack is called summer house, which I won from Jolly Jabber.

Now what I would like you to do for the contest is, give me some ideas on how I can use these charms or if you know of a good quilt pattern that would work with these, give me a link so I can check it out. Or, how you might quilt a basic quilt for charity, something simple, but still special. Victoria of Bumble Bean quilts is doing a drive to get 350 more quilts to give to a local shelter, so I am hoping I can do a few before the deadline, but if I can't, I will donate them to a local shelter here.

So, leave a comment, throw me some ideas or links and I will draw a name on friday. The winner will win their choice of one of my epatterns. If you are not a quilter, you can still leave me a comment, maybe some ideas for other items I can make for charity or gifts for the holidays.

And for those of you who commented before I added a link, the creature on my kayak is called a Horseshoe crab and they are big. This guy was floating into the cove with the tide, so no, I do not pick up live crabs and put them on my boat, lol.

Excellent Idea!...these two charm packs could be quickly made into rag quilts; which look fabulous!...and you'd be able to send them off in time for the charity donation.

The latest charm pack quilt that I made was chubby chicks. I got the pattern from Holly Hills In West Linn and it came with a sweet charm pack! Check it out...so cute! http://wooliemammoth.blogspot.com/2011/07/chubby-monday.html

I make pretty simple charm pack quilts, because I like to show off the fabrics - I use a neutral color sashing the same size as the charms. Straight line quilting. I love the finished project and it's really fast!
A horseshoe crab, that would terrify me, lol.

I havent made one but I plan to quite soon in cutting the charms in half and then sewing a coin stack (I think that is what it is called) and then a plain sashing to join.... could do it will full squares even....

This is fun! But, I do not have many quilt pattern ideas... I do know that you will make a quilt that someone will love to hug! :-)

Pretty fabrics Debbie. Since there are a lot of florals, how about a simple patchwork and stitch some inspirational messages that reference florals . . . "faith sees the flower in every seed". Then the quilt could offer them comfort in two ways :)

Two charm packs can make a Schnibble Quilt from Miss Rosie Quilt Co. :-)

Very cute fabrics. The disappearing nine patch is a fun and easy way to make a quilt. Have a happy day!

Congrats on more wins! You have got to be the luckiest girl I know!! :)

I'm not a quilter... so I can't give you any ideas, but I'm sure more than one talented quilter in blogland will help out. :)

I like framing the charm with white -- similar to an i-spy -- as a simple charm quilt.
Here is a link I just found for a tutorial for a cute sewing container for a gift.

...the link disappeared so here is another try http://craftycupboard.blogspot.com/2011/08/tumblers-and-go-baby-winner.html

They are awfully pretty just the way they are. Maybe a solid coordinating fabric to use as sashing for the 5" blocks

I really like the disappearing nine patch pattern. You can use so many fabrics in that design.
